Samsung opening 60 retail stores in Europe, operated by Carphone Warehouse
1/29/2014 2:35:24 PM

Samsung will be opening 60 standalone stores across Europe, dedicated to selling you Samsung products. The new stores will be operated by Carphone Warehouse, with the company announcing a partnership.

The news follows a trial of three Samsung stores in Spain in 2013 and will see Samsung outlets coming to the streets of UK, Ireland, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Sweden and the Netherlands.

"We are delighted to have been chosen as Samsung's preferred European partner for their store roll-out," said Andrew Harrison, CEO of Carphone Warehouse.

"Our Connected World Services business will combine Carphone Warehouse's retailing expertise and systems with one of the world's biggest brands and will help us make even more lives better through connected technology."

The Samsung stores will offer customers the chance to browse and buy from Samsung's mobile device selection, including smartphones, tablets, wearables and laptops.

Samsung and Carphone Warehouse say there is the potential to expand this agreement moving forward, with Carphone Warehouse lending its retail expertise to the partnership.

At the moment there's no word on when we might expect to see the first stores open, or exactly where they will be located, but it looks like Samsung could be coming to a high street near you.
