Asus introduces 13.3-inch Transformer Book Duet Windows/Android tablet-laptop hybrid
1/6/2014 8:17:00 PM
Asus has revealed a 13.3-inch hybrid at CES 2014 that runs both Windows and Android, while at the same time serving as either a laptop or tablet. Essentially, the Transformer Book Duo is a portable version of the Transformer Book Trio introduced in June.
If you're feeling the laptop form-factor, the machine can be placed in a dock that provides a keyboard, 1TB in disk space alongside Ethernet, USB and HDMI. By itself as a tablet, the Transformer Book Duet features a 1080p display 1920x1080 resolution, Core i7 processor, and 128GB of solid-state storage.
Asus says you can switch between Windows 8.1 and Android 4.1 in four seconds through a one-touch button. It's not Android on-top of Windows or vice-versa - quite simply two operating systems in one machine.
The Transformer Book Duet will be available for $599 for the Intel Core i3 model and $699 for unit running a 1080p screen. You bet we'll be getting a closer look on the tradeshow floor here in Las Vegas.
