Vtech baby tablet announced, because they are never too young for tech
1/22/2014 11:10:00 AM

How young is too young to get a tablet? That's the question some people will ask when they see the Vtech InnoTab 3 Baby Tablet which goes on sale later this year.

The new tablet is designed to be used by babies as young as 12 months old and is a customisation by Vtech of its InnoTab 3 tablet launched in 2012.

The difference now is that the InnoTab 3 Baby features a much tougher shell to protect it against the more accident-prone toddlers who will be using it.

"It saves you having to give your child your iPhone," a Vtech spokesman explained.

The tablet, which does let you remove the kid-proof casing if you also have older children in the house, includes 12 built-in songs and a baby cartridge as well as a baby-stylus, because you never know just when they'll start writing cursive.

Aside from that the tab has the same specs as the InnoTab 3, which give it a 180-degree rotating camera, apps and a basic offering that's not as good as the InnoTab 3S - don't start.

Costing £79.99 the InnoTab 3 Baby should be in shops in time for Christmas.
